As India and Pakistan gear up to resume cricketing relations after a gap of five years, former Pakistani skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Ali-Khan-c89356 Afridi, has said India-Pakistan series are bigger in stature than the traditional Ashes rivalry.

"The matches between Pakistan and India are widely followed and people throughout the world are greatly interested in their matches. The pressure is great when we play against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 but it is also more thrilling," the flamboyant all-rounder added further.
The BCCI, on Monday announced the revival of cricketing relations between the arch rivals and agreed to host Pakistan cricket team in three ODIs and two T20 Internationals later this year.
Cricket followers around the globe welcomed The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision to announce the resumption of bilateral ties between the two countries.
The last bilateral series between the two countries was held in 2007 when Pakistan team toured India and played 3 Tests and 5 One Day Internationals.
India were scheduled to play a return series the following year but the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 attacks in 2008 soured Indo-Pak relations and cricketing ties between the two rivals were broken.
Former Pakistan skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-Khan-c64237 has also expressed his pleasure over the resumption of cricket ties, and believes it will not only serve the interests of the two nations but the sport as well.

Current Pakistan captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 also hailed BCCI's decision.
"It will be a great a spectacle for the cricket fans when the two sides face each other," Misbah said.
The dates and venues for the matches are yet to be announced by BCCI, however it is expected to be slotted in the fortnight Christmas break, when England will fly home after playing 4 Tests and 2 T20s and later return for a 5 match ODI series in the first
week of January.
