Indonesia Open 2012: Bao Yixin, Zhong Qianxin tame Jung Kyung, Kim Ha in quarter-final round
Women’s Doubles campaigners Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin of China stunned Jung Kyung Eun-Kim Ha Na in quarter-finals of Djarum Indonesia Open and danced their way to semi-finals on June 15, 2012.
The lower ranked but spirited duo wrapped the show in just 37 minutes with a commendable performance. They raised hands as champions by registering final total of 21-18 and 21-11.
World Number ten Chinese duo played with right attitude and fortitude to setup a clash with compatriot pair Wang Xiaoli-Yu Yang in second last round of this Super Series tournament.
On the other hand, the Korean couple who was hot favourite for this encounter could not perform up to the expectations and crashed out of the event.
The opening game of match set overall mood of this contest as both teams tried their best to gain an early advantage.
There were many ups and downs in this part of game as at one stage it was felt that Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin will pocket first match point without facing any trouble but then the opposing team injected some thrill with amazing performance in final moments.
In first half of the set, the Chinese controlled overall pace of the rallies and reached at 7-3. They doubled the impact by establishing six-point lead with 11-5 score before the interval.
In later part, they were far ahead of their challengers in 16-10 total when Jung Kyung-Kim Ha counterbalanced the situation with six uninterrupted rallies.
However, Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin did not show any sign of confusion at this critical stage and finished the race with 21-18 margin in their favour.
This first set loss broke the backbone of World Number three Korean pair and they knelt down in next segment of the show.
First sign of trouble came when they blundered in four nonstop rallies after 5-5. They never came out of this deficit as their competitors capitalised this and placed 11-7 total at half time.
The Chinese female shuttlers raised their total to 16 immediately after the break and when their challengers tried to rise from the dust they stamped them by registering 21-11 score on the board.
