Indonesia Open 2012: Jung Kyung, Kim Ha clinch spot in Women’s Doubles pre quarter-finals
Women’s Doubles experts Jung Kyung Eun-Kim Ha Na of Korea raised country’s chances of glory in the Djarum Indonesia Open by making into pre quarter-final round on June 13, 2012.
They outshined Savitree Amitrapai-Sapsiree Taerattanachai in first round with final result of 21-11, 21-23 and 21-17.
This 50-minute tussle was staged in Istora Senayan Stadium of Jakarta and the Koreans amused the audience with a fine display of badminton skills.
World Number six duo is now scheduled to meet Malaysian couple Eei h*i Chin-Pei Tty Wong to cement their spot in top eight teams of the tournament.
Earlier in their opening match, Jung Kyung and Kim Ha took off in perfect manner and enjoyed a smooth flight to victory.
They laid the foundation of their dominance by snatching first match point straight away. They launched an intensive attack and prevailed in first eight rallies.
They relished full benefits of this 8-0 margin and finished first half by piling up a mountainous total of 11 points.
This gap was never covered by the opposing team as they kept trailing behind until the last moment and gave up this futile exercise after reading 11-21 score on the board.
Next game proved best part of the contest as both pairs put all in their possession to achieve their respective goal.
It was a do-or-die situation for Thai campaigners and they successfully avoided a straight-set defeat.
Women’s Doubles experts Savitree and Sapsiree matched the skills of their superior rivals and managed to keep contest alive.
In first half, neither team could establish a comfortable lead as they were locked in tense situation with 11-10 margin.
Jung Kyung and Kim Ha made swift progress after the interval and got into commanding position of 15 but their dominance was short lived as their competitors picked up the pace and caught them.
Though, the Thai shuttlers remained at lower end in next couple of rallies but they managed to level the score at 20-20.
They played three game points and finally Savitree Amitrapai-Sapsiree Taerattanachai made difference by grabbing last two points in decisive total of 23-21.
Third and final set was played at top speed and both teams chased each other until last moments but the Koreans left their competitors far behind by reaching at finishing figure of 21-17.
