The un-seeded Sakai, who started his run in this championship as a qualifier, maintained his tremendous performance and outplayed Jorgensen who was the 7th seed in Men’s Singles main draw.
Japanese player was in spectacular form as he played with impressive ease and maintained pressure on his experienced opponent. He commanded the pace of rallies and eventually won the battle without losing any game with a margin of 21-16 and 21-19.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Jorgensen was in trouble throughout the battle as he could not play positive badminton. He could not utilise his sharp strokes and ultimately lost the contest at the starting round.

Jorgensen geared up his speed in the second game and he managed to find a good flow. He was on a different level this time but again, failed to create any considerable lead as his opponent was positive on court.
