Indonesia Open GP Gold: Han Li topples Yeni Asmarani to secure Women’s Singles title
China’s talented player Han Li proved her presence strongly felt as she secured Women’s Singles title after toppling her lower ranked local opponent Yeni Asmarani in the final encounter at Indonesia Open GP Gold Badminton 2012 in Indonesia, on Sunday, September
30.
The World Number 30 Han, who was the second seed in Women’s Singles draw in the Indonesia Open, showed her elevated skills in the title battle and destroyed the local hopes by beating her Indonesian challenger in a dominating manner.
Han was in terrific form as she played with incredible speed and control in her shots and eventually remained successful in thrashing her challenger in straight games with a huge margin by taking just 30 minutes on court.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Yeni failed to continue her giant killing performance as she could not put up strong resistance against her Chinese opponent all the way and lost the battle without even taking any game.
It was a good fight in the opening points as the Indonesian shuttler showed her aggression and did not let her challenger to take lead until the score reached at 5-5.
However, Han started to gear up her speed and took over the control from her opponent by playing smart badminton at net.
The Chinese shuttler remained on track in the ending points of opening half and took an impressive 11-6 lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the second seeded Han made it a lopsided battle by playing at the similar fashion and stretched the gap without facing any trouble.
Han showed a great performance on court in the concluding points of first game and easily bagged it with a staggering 21-12 score on the board.
In the following set, Han was calm and composed on court and she played controlled game without facing any resistance. She took a wonderful lead again until the end of first half by reaching at 11-7.
After the break, the Chinese player remained up to the mark without dropping her speed and she easily wrapped up the second set with a one-sided 21-10 score on the board.
Han took the title by finishing off the final battle in straight games with an inspiring margin of 21-12 and 21-10.
