Indonesia Open GP Gold: Simon Santoso outshines Sung Min Park in Men’s Singles second round
Simon Santoso, the top shuttler from Indonesia, proved his domination on court as he played impressive badminton and easily outplayed Korea’s Sung Min Park in Men’s Singles second round at Indonesia Open GP Gold Badminton 2012 on Wednesday, September 26,
in Indonesia.
The World Number Five Santoso, who is top seeded shuttler in Men’s Singles main draw of the tournament, showed his fabulous skills on court and did not face any trouble in crushing his Korean opponent in an easy fashion.
Santoso remained in his usual calm and composed style on court and played with impressive confidence all the way to finish up the contest in straight sets with a crushing margin by taking 23 minutes on court.
The un-seeded Sung Min, on the other hand, was simply unable to put up strong resistance against the fireworks of his higher ranked Indonesian opponent and eventually lost the contest in two games with a huge margin on the board.
In the first set, Santoso showed his class and stunned his rival by playing attacking and positive badminton.
The incredible speed and powerful smashes of the Indonesian shuttler helped him to establish an incredible lead of 11-2 until the end of first half.
After the interval, Sung Min tried to reduce the gap by accelerating his speed but he failed to shake the impressive defence of Santoso and remained struggling.
In the meanwhile, Santoso remained positive and calm on court as he did not show any sign of confusion and grabbed the first set in a staggering way with an unbelievable 21-7 score on the board.
Santoso remained aggressive and positive in the second game and again took a reasonable lead at the early stage.
The in-form Indonesian shuttler continued showing his elite class on court and set up an 11-5 lead on score board until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Santoso showed no respect to his Korean challenger as he kept on playing aggressive badminton and eventually took the set with a crushing margin of 21-12.
Santoso cheered his home crowd by finishing up this second round contest in just 23 minutes with a fabulous 21-7 and 21-12 score on the board.
