Indonesia Open Super Series: Yuhan Tan ousts Chetan Anand in Men’s Singles qualifying round

Belgium’s Yuhan Tan stared his journey in Men’s Singles qualifying round in a convincing manner as he played with precision and easily ousted Chetan Anand of India at the 2012 Singapore Open Super Series on Tuesday, June 19, in Singapore.
The in-form Yuhan, who is seeded at number four in Men’s Singles qualifying round, showed his impressive class and registered a sensational victory over Anand in a one-sided fashion.
The higher ranked Belgian shuttler was quite smooth and quick in his movement in all areas of the court and he tamed his Indian opponent with an incredible easy by finishing off the battle in just 24 minutes.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Anand played nervously as he could not create pressure on his rival at any stage in the entire fight and eventually lost to him in straight sets without playing at his best.
In the first game, Yuhan was the one who took a tremendous lead without wasting any time in the court and also maintained his upper hand in the court.
In the meanwhile, Anand tried his best to utilise his powerful smashes but failed to place his shots in gaps and remained behind his higher ranked challenger on the board until mid-game interval.
After the 60-second break, Yuhan continued his power play without committing any errors in the court and eventually won the first game with a phenomenal 21-10 score on the board.
In the second game, Anand changed his playing strategy as he kept the bird low this time by executing flat shots and also kept his rival away from the net. This strategy worked well and he remained close to Yuhan until the one-minute interval.
After the one-minute break, the Belgian accelerated his speed and unleashed his impressive smashes which helped him to take a reasonable lead.
Yuhan continued his positive and dominating play against the Indian in the concluding half of second set and easily bagged it with a striking margin of 21-15.
The in-form Yuhan won this 24-minute qualifying round contest in two sets with a one-sided score of 21-10 and 21-15.
