Indonesia rules the courts in pre quarter-finals of Vietnam International Challenge 2012
The Men’s doubles teams of Indonesia proved their supremacy and ruled the courts in pre quarter-finals of Ciputra Hanoi Vietnam International Challenge on March 29, 2012.
Five Indonesian teams ensured their presence in quarter-finals of the event and raised country’s chance to win the crown in Men’s doubles category.
The splendid victory saga was started by the couple Ricky Karanda-Muhamad Ulinuha who thrashed their Malaysian opponents Jagdish Singh-Hong Kheng Yew with 21-11 and 21-13 score on the board.
The second Indonesian pair, Andrei Adistia-Christopher Rusdianto followed the trail of success and outclassed their compatriots Wahyu Nayaka-Ade Yusuf in second round match.
They registered their straight-set victory with 21-17 and 21-19 score and stepped forward in the quarter-finals where they are scheduled to meet their compatriot doubles experts Ricky Karanda
and Muhamad Ulinuha.
The next chapter of the saga was even more impressive when another Men’s doubles team of Indonesia Ronald Alexander-Selvanus Geh bagged the victory against Taipei combination of Jui Wei Liang
and Kuan Hao Liao in three games with final figures of 15-21, 21-17 and 21-15.
This win pits them against the duo of Praveen Jordan-Didit Juang and it will be interesting to see both contestants playing for one cause, to escort Indonesia to the finals.
Earlier, the twosome of Praveen and Didit Juang proved their worth against the Malaysian opponents Mohd Lutfi Zaim-Vountus Indra in an epic tussle of 63 minutes and emerged as fourth quarter-finalist
from Indonesia.
The victory saga was concluded by the second seeded pair of the event Gideon Markus-Agripinna Prima who outclassed their rival duo Low Juan Shen-Yip Jiun Tan in just two games.
The Malaysians were completely harmless and armless against the Indonesian invasion and surrendered after reading final figures of 23-21 and 21-14 at the end.
This final victory ensured country’s fifth spot in the quarter-final round and the duo of Gideon Markus and Agripinna Prima will now meet the Indian pair Pranav Chopra-Akshay Dewalkar to surge
into top four teams of the event.
The round of eight is set to be staged on March 30, 2012 where Indonesia will have its stakes in three out of four quarter-finals which itself is a record in history of Vietnam International
Challenge.
