Indoor aerial no good. What can I do?

I have no outdoor TV aerial so the picture on my TV is terrible. I have bought an indoor "booster" aerial but lately that doesn't seem to work either. Can anyone recommend a really good indoor aerial that boosts your reception?

Looking for a "good" indoor antenna is very much a fool's errand.

The correct operation of any radio device (a t.v. is one) depends on it being presented with a reasonable strong and clean signal.  

If you are in an area where the signal strength from the desired transmitter is weak then an indoor antenna is simply not good enough.  An amplifer willl not only amplify the signal it will also amplify any received noise, so they are generally self-defeating.

Install a respected brand of antenna, a proper outdoor antenna, as high as you can practically do so.
