Question:

Indoor birthday party for 3 year old?

I want to have an indoor party for my 3-year old, and I don't want it at my house. I don't like places like Chuck E Cheese or McDonald's because they are so gross, haha. And my son only has like 6-7 little buddies, so Pump-It-Up is a little much. Anyone have any creative ideas for an indoor party venue?

  1. How about a cowboy party. If you have a Hobby Lobby near you they have tons of cute themed stuff for that from invitations to decor.

You could use felt to make horse heads and attach them to dowel rods. Just tie on a bandana at the neck of each to give out. They can run around and have stick horse races in the yard. Set up a horseshoe toss.  If you did it indoors you could get thick pieces of foam and cut the horseshoes from that so nothing get's broken or damaged.  Use paper bags and cut them like vests with fringe and let them decorate their own cowboy vest.  Hand out cowboy hats and sherrif badges for each of them.  See how many ping pong balls they can toss into a boot.

Not into cowboys? Do a sport that he likes.  Baseball is a popular theme. You could give all the kids a plastic ball/bat set and have ball hats (check craft stores) for each one. Have them bring a plain white T shirt from home and make iron on's in advance in a baseball theme using the computer and iron on to the shirts for them to take home. Have a 3 on 3 ball game in the back yard, a baseball pitch to see who can throw farthest or have them aim at a target. Get plastic helmets and serve a cupcake and icecream in them. They'll make a great take home favor too.

There's also themes like race cars, trains, basketball, soccer, football,  camping out, theme around a favorite board game, animals, dinosaurs, bugs, fire trucks, cops and robbers...

  2. A lot of places may offer a tour for a small group.  Call you local fire department and see if you can bring the small group to see the trucks. Some police stations will do this too if it is set up in advance.  Make sure you have some other adults with you to control the kids.  6-7 3 yr olds is a lot! As far as eating or BD cake... some fire stations do have a community room or you can then move the party to a Dairy Queen or some such thing.

Also, some malls have train rides or play places that you can have the party meet there and then move to the food court.

    Hope that helps.
