Indoor lemon tree.?

Question

I really love the smell of lemons and want a SMALL indoor lemon tree. I can keep it in a green house but i need to keep it in my house. WHEre can i get one and how can i take care of it. How big will the tree get because i can only keep something small.

PS. I dont need seeds but a REAL ready lemon tree.

Hi.  I'm in Vancouver, B.C. and have kept a small lemon tree in my house for years.  It blooms about twice a year, and the scent of the blossoms is wonderful.  I put it out on my patio every summer and it loves that.  I prune it back hard if it gets too big.  Its stays about the size of a beach ball.  You can buy them at any plant nursery.  There is a really popular company who sells to all of them the tropical type plants.  Gardenia is also another option if you want a small nice smelling plant.

Yes they will  grow fine in a light position in a house. the easiest way to purchase is going to your local garden center, bell them first, or eBay. Care is best viewed on the net.

Not sure where in Canada - what I did to find one in California was to type into a search engine: dwarf meyer lemon tree California and a lot of choices came through (the stuff I saw on Amazon wouldn't ship to Cali.)  Dwarf tree usually grow between 4-10' and you can cut the tree back methodically to keep it shorter and sort of 'bonsai' it to a manageable height.  Sometimes it's called training, sometimes it's called 'heading back' but there are great sites on the web that tell you when to prune and how to prune to keep the shape small.

My friend did this and put it outside just in the summer. It only grows to the size of your ceiling no bigger.

How ever you may need to pollinate it yourself.
