  1. If you train, your indoor time will be much better.  However, I can almost guarantee that you will get even better times in the outdoor season following your indoor season.

  2. Indoor times are generally a little slower than outdoor times but since you never trained for the 400 and now you are training your indoor time could very well be faster and than your outdoor season could be even faster than your indoor. so you could run a low 62 or 61 I think.

An indoor track is 200m but there are a few out there that are 300m (kent state in Ohio has a 300m indoor track) Good luck with your indoor season.

  3. All the indoor tracks I have been to have been 200 m a lap. I've only been to the one at UNC though because there aren't many indoor tracks in the south compared to the north. (It got rather cold at our meets...)

A 1:02  400 is a great time to start out at without training. I can't predict what your times will be, but I'm sure they will definitely be competitive.
