A 11.2 V battery is connected in series with a resistor and an inductor. The circuit has a time constant of 492 µs, and the maximum current is 201 mA. What is the value of the inductance?

  1. The current is 11.2/.201 = 55.7 ohms

    Time constant is L/R = 492us = L/55.7

    L = 492u x 55.7 = 27.4 mH
