Question:

Induction cooking safe

I know that induction cooking works because of eddy current flowing through the ferromagnetic pot, what i am interested is whether this current flow will cause an electric shock to us when we touch the pot since the current will flow through us.

  1. No, The plates themselves are earthed - Eddy currents are formed within the material - and this is why it heats up.

I've seen them manufacturing components using a large copper loop. A steel component id held in it BY HAND - and the other end of the component heats up to red hot within 5 seconds.
