Ineed some new books to read . I like james patterson and Janet Evanovich. Can i get some ideas from ya'll ?

Harlen Coben's Myron Bolitar series is similar to Evanovich in terms of humor served alongside memorable characters and decent plot. (His stand-alone work is darker, and I admire it greatly.)

Lawrence Block's "The Burglar Who..." series is also relatively light. His Matthew Scudder series is darker, something like Patterson (but, IMO, leagues better).

Consider Robert Parker's Spenser series, too.

1984 by George Orwell. It's about what would happen if Hitler won the war (he has cameras watching your every move and people monitoring what you say every second of the day! It's a really good book!)
