  1. MOD means u cant take + or -

    2|3x + 4| - 5 > -6

    2(3x+4)-5>-6     or  2(-(3x+4))-5>-6

    2(3x+4)>-6+5    or  2(-3x-4)>-6+5

    6x+8>-1      or                -6x-8 > -1

    6x>-1-8                             6x+8<1

    6x>-9                                  so x should be < -7/6

    so x should be > -9/6

  2. 2|3x + 4| - 5 > -6

    2|3x + 4| > -1

    |3x + 4| > -1/2

x can be any real number and the inequality still holds true.

  3. 2|3x + 4| - 5 > - 6

    2|3x + 4| > 5 - 6

    2|3x + 4| > - 1

    |3x + 4| > - 1/2

    Answer: |3x + 4| > - 1/2
