1) The width of a rectangle is 33 centimeters. The perimeter is at least 776 centimeters.

A. Write and solve an inequality to find the length of the rectangle.

B. Write an inequality to find the area of the rectangle.

2) Alexandra wants to go hiking on Saturday. To choose from several parks she could to, she considers these conditions.

- She wants to hike for 2 hours.

- She want to spend no more than 6 hours away from home.

-She can average 65 mph to and from the park.

Write and solve an inequality to find possible distances from Alexandra's home to a park that satisfies the conditions.

3) If the perimeter of a rectangular picture frame must be less than 200 in., and the width is 36 in., what must the height (H) of the frame be?

    Let the length of the rectangle equal a

    2a + 2x33 is at least 776

    2a + 66 >= 776

    a >= (776-66)/2

    a>= 355cm

    1B)

    since your know your other side length

    area >= 355x33 = 11,715cm^2

    2) She hikes for 2 hours and hikes for a time up to 4 hours.

    distance = speed x time

    time = distance / speed = x /65 hours

    Total time < 6 hours

    x/65 + 2 < 6

    x/65< 4

    x < 260 miles.

    Perimeter = 2x36 + 2a = 72+2a < 200

    2a < 128

    a < 64in.
