Inexpensive Yorkie Puppies?

Question

I want a yorkie puppy sooooo badly. For as long as i can remember i have wanted one of these dogs. However I cant afford to spend a huge amount of money on one.

Does anyone know where i can get a yorkie puppy for not a whole lot of money?

That's a tough one, because every time I've seen a yorkie on sale in a pet shop, it's been for a ridiculous bundle of money, because their such popular, adorable dogs. Try googling it.

yeah deffinitly look at all the pounds and helters near you, but even them can cost enough - like $300 in fees and spaying/neutering and guys even if she cant afford the vet if it gets sick its better then just being put down by some greasy shelter worker

adopt one from the shelter.

the cheapest part to owning a pet is when you actually buy it. if you already have to look for an "inexpensive" puppy, then you probably will not dish out the money to treat your dog when it has problems. don't get a dog if you have financial issues

check local shelters and rescues first.. they are always cheapest

avoid pet stores - they are the most $$$

if you really want a yorkie - you will save $ by considering an adult who is already fixed...

I will say this only once...You pay for what you get!!  When it comes to popular breeds of dogs such as a yorkie you need to be very careful of anyone that is selling them for cheap.  They could have tons of health issues or be severely inbred.  Do your research on the American Kennel club site. Also look up genetic defects that are common to this breed along with the temperment of the breed.  You should screen anyone that you potentially want to get a puppy from by asking them if the puppies they are selling are guaranteed against defects.  Any reputable breeder should have a health guarantee on their dogs especially against genetic defects.  The parents should have been screened for patelar luxation and hip displasia.  Also the eyes should be checked by a veterinarian that specializes in canine opthamology.  The dogs shoule have certification by the OFA and CERF. If  the breeder tells you they have not been screened and there is no guarantee then steer clear.  There is a huge possiblilty that your heart as well as your pocket book will be shattered by a situation like that.

These dogs do not come cheap...at least not the healthy ones!!! Do not buy from a pet store of back yard breeder...You might get lucky but then again...
