Inexpensive contact lens fititng in San Francisco?

I already have a current RX and want to get my first pair of contacts. Hurray! I don't have insurance though, and would love to find a doctor that will do a fitting for ~$50 or so (everywhere I've checked so far costs around $100). Does such a thing exist?

PS I'm super-astigmatic, does that affect the price?

Your eye doctor would be ideal. The doctor can not only fit you with the correct lens, but can give you different samples to try to see which one feels the best.
