Inexpensive hotels/motels near Six Flags Great America in Gurnee?

I'm going to Six Flags Great America at the end of August & was hoping to get some recommendations for inexpensive lodging near the park. I know the Great America site lists some hotels, but I was hoping to find something a bit less expensive if possible.

Econo Lodge, from $55 a night (plus taxes - I think taxes are about 8%).

You can actually view a list of hotels sorted by distance from Six Flags (closest listed first).

Head over to http://www.resideo.com/us/illinois/gurne... and select "Six Flags Great America" from the distance dropdown -- that'll re-sort the hotel list.

You can read up on each hotel, view pics, quote & book online.

I just got back from Great America. The EconoLodge is about a mile or so from the park. They offer a really nice Six Flags package. I got a room and 3 adult tickets for $159. Mind you, the hotel and the room aren't great, but it was clean and convenient, complete with fridge, microwave and wireless internet in the room. You can get the hotel's phone number off of the Six Flags web site. If that's not what you're looking for there's a hotel almost across the street from the park entrance. I think it was called The Grand. The marquee said "cheapest rooms in the area." Don't know much about it tho. Hope that helps.
