Question:

Inexpensive soprano sax?

I play alto sax and flute and have previously played clarinet, and now am interested in getting a soprano sax. Unfortunately, my parents are not willing to shell out any money for an instrument and I have to pay for it myself. (Keep in mind, I'm only fifteen - my budget is small) Currently I have two altos - a Yamaha Custom Z and a thirty year old selmer bundy for marching. I'd like to stay name-brand with the Soprano, but I'm really okay with anything that's decent.

Preferably, I'd like to stay below $1,000 - but $500 and under would definitely be best. (I'm only allowed to spend birthday money and such - any allowance, babysitting, misc jobs earnings go toward college and savings accounts.) I'm okay with used horns. Any suggustions?

  1. Check with local instrument rental shops, sometimes they sell used instruments.  Also look on craigslist or even try ebay.
