Inexperienced with animals?

I am very inexperienced with animals and want to get one. I plan on purchasing the animal first, then getting all the information I need from one this one forum. Any help.

You should get the info first and then pick the animal that you want. It is what would be best for the animal.

Id hate to see an animal not being properly taken care of.  Maybe you should start with a beta fish and work your way up.  They only need to be fed once a day and they need their bowl (yes they only need a bowl no fancy aquariums) cleaned once a week.  Thats about it!

Maybe then you could get a hampster which takes a little more work but also a little more love.

Research first, THEN get the pet.

The internet should only be used to get help after you've learnt the basics and if you experience problems.

Get a goldfish. Then research everything you need to know online.

You should DEFINATELY do the research first and then decide what pet works with your needs.it's wrong to let a pet have completely the wrong setup/care while you look on an online forum for help from possible unproffesional and uncorrect people.

What kind of pet do you want, first of all?! And, as the others said, research the animal FIRST, then get the pet. You don't know what you need to get, whether you'd even be compatible with that sort of pet, how much it would cost overall, etc. until you research! We can't really help you, since you haven't even told us what kind of pet you want to get.

That's like having a baby without bothering to find out how to take care of it until it's here. :P
