Question:

Infected Ingrown Toenail; How long does it take to heal?

I have an infected ingrown toe nail, they haven't taken it out but they gave me keflex (cephalexin) they are an antibiotic. On the right side of the nail there is a raw part (and thick layer of skin, also a bit red/purpleish) and every little while my toe gets a stinging pain.

how should I treat the toe so it can heal faster? I've only been taking the antibiotics for 1 day out of 10. Should I just let the toe air out, or should I soak it in warm epsom salts (it seems like the raw part will never harden if i do that). should I apply a triple antibiotic cream? what should I do? It never hurt before, and for a couple of days now, every little while I get that pain :/

  1. I have Exactly the same problem!! It is sooo annoying. Keep up with the epsom salts. It does help in the long run. Put the triple action antibiotic cream on it. In a week or two it should be ok. I hope this helps!
