Inflamed and very painful gums?

Halp? My mouth is in horrible shape. Recently I've been brushing more, better, and with an electric toothbrush. My gums are inflamed and very painful. Especially when I open or close my mouth or move my lips or cheeks. I dunno how I'll manage eating. It hurts soo bad. Is this a good thing? I mean I know it's not. But does that mean the brushing is helping? && What can I do for the pain?

  1. I don't know why your dad is making you suffer when a dentist could take care of this quickly, and the longer you wait, the worse it could get.

Rinse with warm salt water to reduce the inflammation. Maybe you could use some orajel ointment too if it's really bad, but that stuff is kind of annoying. It always numbs the areas you don't want to numb.

  2. You only have to brush twice a day and when you do, don't brush too hard as this abrades the enamel and makes your teeth very sensitive.  On the other hand, if your gums are bleeding and painful, you may have gingivitis or periodontal disease. Speak to your dentist. Taking extra strength Tylenol should help relieve your pain until you get to a Dentist!!!

  3. You might want to see a dentist if it is that bad.
