Inflammed tounge area?

My grandmother showed me her tounge this morning and the center area (all the way back) looks as if it maybe infected or something. I have no idea what causes this. It's the wierdest thing because it's so defined into a line in the center of her tounge, any ideas??? 10 points to best answer and thanks so much in advance!

It could be geographic tongue. It will keep changing shapes & size. It will be sensitive to hot & spicy food. No treatment, just take vitmins & eat green leaft vegitables. Its an auto immune disorder. Bettre to get checked with an oral pathologist.
