Being transfered to Perth for work this month. What Suburbs are nice to live in (will be looking to rent 2 bedroom unit/townhouse). Im 26 year old single male, but not really into night clubs/anything loud etc, would prefer a more queit family orintated area. Work is at Welshpool, but in Sydney I travel 34km to work each way, so I would be happy to drive that far. I like the look of North of the river and west of the city.

  1. Bertram is nice, out of the way and not really heard of much

  2. I think Petedavo sums it up

  3. Sorry pal, i'm in Ireland, & all I know about Australia is that I have visited NSW several times.

  4. Anywhere west of the city on the River are the very best suburbs.

Applecross to Bicton on the south and Crawley to Mosman Park on the North. However they are also the most expensive. A little cheaper are the River areas east of the city form Ascot to Burswood, Bassendean to East Perth. South Perth/Como has lots of apartments and town houses but is expensive compared to a decade ago.

There are nearby areas to those like Mount Lawley, Yokine, Inglewood, Vic Park, Bentley, Palmyra, Jolimont, Subiaco, and Scarborough with lots of Apartments or units that will be a little bit cheaper.

Most of the other areas are either housing only, or simply too far away.

PS: Rental accommodation will be very hard to find at the moment. Everywhere in Perth is full.

Since your working in Welshpool, why not try Cannington? There are a lot of upmarket new unit developments in that area, and it is the best shopping area in WA, as well that a lot of people overlook the area.
