Question:

Info about Stun Guns?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

I was thinking about buying a stun gun when I move out and I was wondering...

1) How much voltage I need to bring down an attacker?

2) Could I hit an attacker multiple times?

3) What's the best brand of stun guns?

4) How long before I have to change the batteries?

5) Depending on the voltage, how long will an attacker stay down?

You don't need to answer all of these questions, I'd rather have one correct answer than 5 assumptions.

Thank You.

  1. There are lots of bad info out there.  Buyer beware.  But here are some truths.

    1.  Voltage does not bring down the attacker, it is the amps.  A Taser uses 50,000 volts to deliver its milliamps in such a way it puts the attacker down.

    2.  With a Taser you could stun the attacker multiple times, but you normally don't need to with the civilian version.

    3.  In my opinion, Taser is the best, and the civilian model is the C26.

    4.  Batteries in the Taser are self contained in the DPM (digital power magazine) and are good for 5 years.

    5.  Regardless of the voltage, the attacker will only stay down as long as the current is flowing from the stun gun to the attacker.

Go to www.Taser.com and check out the civilian model C26.  It is designed to put the attacker down for up to 30 seconds while you get away.  They even offer a no cost warranty that if you use the Taser to get away, make a police report, and allow them to use your story, they will give you another Taser for free.
