  1. Since you're a minor, you have to be accompanied by a guardian or someone 18+ years to get one with you. Some shops may not even allow THAT (depending on how strict they are).

You have to realize that you're still really young and you're going to do a lot of growing up until you reach about 18 or so. Depending on where you get the tattoo it could end up stretching out and getting ugly as you grow. Like if you get it on your hip, as your hips get bigger the paw print will start to stretch out and look deformed. That's why most people wait until they're older. So they are completely done growing and don't have to worry about the tattoo looking bad as they age.

Do you realize how painful tattoos are? It's a bunch of needles putting ink onto your skin. You don't want to chicken out in the middle of a tattoo because then you will just have a small meaningless chunk of ink on your skin that's going to be even MORE painful to remove.

In 3 years, are you even going to LIKE this tattoo? What's the purpose of getting a paw print? Because it's trendy? Because you "like it"? Well, I very much doubt that when you're 30 years old you're going to feel "cool" and "fashionable" with a paw print marked on your body. Most people pick out things meaningful to them for a tattoo. Like a birth date, a symbol to honor someone in their life who died, the name of their child, their zodiac signs and things like that.

Wait it out. Give yourself time to think about what you really want. Mentally prepare yourself for the pain of a tattoo. Then, you can consider what you REALLY want.

  2. It's probably what you don't want to hear, but your definitely way too young to get a tattoo. First off, no matter where you put the tattoo, it will become very distorted as you get older. You're not done growing yet when you're 14, so the tattoo you get now will stretch as you grow.

Secondly, it would be almost impossible to find a tattoo artist willing to work on a 14-year-old. Many states have banned tattooing minors, even with parental consent. The reason why they have banned this is for the same reason in the above paragraph. It's often not safe and kids your age can easily contract infections from tattoos.

  3. Since you are so young you would have to have an adult to sign a thing saying yes you can get a tattoo and a school ID. Also trying to find an artist that will tattoo you. I think you are too young to get one BUT thats not for me to judge. For the tattoo your wanting I would say tops $50.. but it all depends on how long it takes to do it and the artist. I think to have a paw print would be cute behind the ear, back of shoulder.

  4. It might be hard to find an artist willing to ink a 14-y-o, but as long as you know it's what you want then go for it! I say your upper foot or inner wrist would be good places for a hidden/not so hidden tattoo.
