Info for sub teaching in s.c.?

i am working on my AS in early childhood development, a friend thinks i should sub for pre k , what do you need to become a sub?

  1. 60 credit hours. It will give you classroom experience that student teaching doesn't.


  2. You have enough credit to become a full-time teacher assistant in a pre-k or elementary school, I would imagine.  You are more than qualified to become a substitute teacher. Substitute teachers are usually only required to have a high school diploma.  Sometimes they need to be 21 years old, too.  Although age requirements are not always required.  

    Call the school system you are most interested in tomorrow and ask what the requirements are.  You might be able to google the school system, too.  If you don't see that they are currently hiring, you can always choose  to call and make sure.
