Info on 'yukka' tree

Question

My neighbour stripped all the long brown leaves of trunk of my tree - I don't know why, but will this destroy it? The tree is very tall now ( I think it is a yukka - tall upright long leaves, and the bottom ones brown and downward? Help sincerely appreciated

it will really be destroyed because i also have a yucca tree  and i pulled the dead leaves and now there is no plant left.

why you let him do it if you don't know?!!

it should be absolutely fine, like deadheading geraniums, or pruning.  keep an eye on it.
