  1. Joelouhabana has given you excellent information and he would know Cuban life firsthand as he's Cuban :-)

There are many different areas in Cuba that you will enjoy. Prices vary depending on which travel agency/airline you go with, although most are generally about the same. Last minute is usually a good way to go. December to March/April is high season and you may also encounter a bit more of a crowd than from May to November.

If you choose to book a resort, make sure it's nothing less than a 4-4.5* to ensure quality of services, food, and accomodation.

You can also choose to stay in a Casa Particular and stay right in amongst the locals in the homes.

If you want package deals, try these sites:

    http://tripcentral.ca/

(this gives total price with taxes/surcharges)

    http://belairtravel.com/

    http://www.redtag.ca/

    http://www.holidaymarkettravel.com/

...these are just a few sites....so many more you can find and it's better to deal with them online (but you probably know that since you do a lot of travelling)...find the lowest rate and they will match and give you a lower rate.

For example, right now for May for a 2-week all-inclusive, you're looking at around $1137 and up for Cayo Coco (txs/surcharge incl) and $1243 for Cayo Santa Maria....these are more expensive and will depend on the resorts you stay at.

Varadero starts from $758 for 2 weeks around this time of year...and other areas are inbetween prices.

So it all depends where you want to go.

Trinidad, Santiago de Cuba, Camaguey, and of course Havana are also beautiful places to see.

You'll really love Cuba and the Cuban people.

Here are more sites for you to check out:

  2. Hi,

Cubana de Aviacion will take you to La Habana.

    Welcome to Cuba.

The most commercial beach is Varadero.

If you like watching people from Canada and Europe, then, go to Varadero, this is in the Province of Matanzas.

If you like to enjoy the local atmosphere with Cubans, then go to Playas del Este, very close to Ciudad de La Habana.  Spectacular beaches ! !

You can stay in Habana City in a wonderful hotel for about 120 Canadian dlls per night.

Or you can stay in a Casa Particular (private home) for about 30 to 40 Canadian dlls per night.

You can search in the web for Casa Particular Habana,  or  private home Havana, for English.

Try to stay in the area of Vedado or Habana Vieja.

My home is in Centro Habana, that is also another area in a very good location and close to Malecón.

If you need additional information you can contact me, I will be happy to help you with information.

I am not in Cuba now.  I am busy traveling.

    Best to you,

  3. This is a great website with sell off and last minute vacations to Cuba.  Veradero has great beaches. http://redhotescapes.com/  Go to the resort reviews and you can read about all the hotels in different parts of Cuba then check out the last minute and vacation packages.  The last minute link always has great deals to Cuba all inclusive with air included in the price. Really cheap deals.  Punta Cana is also a favorite spot out of Canada more expensive than Cuba though.  Puerto Plata is cheap but the beaches are brown not as pretty as Cubas and Punta Canas.
