  1. The proper name for this is Lampworking.  There is an article on Wikipedia which you will find interesting, and many good sites if you google 'lampworked glass' - try www.lampworkers.org  (this may not be the exact address, but it's something similar if not)

  2. Hi Guys

I just wondered are there any books or web sites on making small animals, hearts, trinkets using this method, ie glass and a blow torch. I used to see a man in Looe, Cornwall sitting in a shop window making these things, looks great!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  3. It would be best to try out some classes if there is any near you. Also there will be some equipment you will need to invest in, another thing you will need to remember is you will have to use compatible glass. If you use different glasses in the same piece there is a chance they will crack and break apart. I myself blow glass and if your interested in glass you should give this a go! It's a fantastic material to use, though blowing needs much more equipment, time and finishing.

Get some books and contact some artist that use this technique and ask them some questions, I'm sure they would be happy to help. Some may offer you some experience if you did some volunteering for them!
