  1. The gentleman in question was the founder of the Ski-Doo snowmobile. As far back as I can remember, Ski-Doo has made some kind of snowmobile, since the 1940's The first machines were big and boxy things. They had wheels somewhat like a car, with tracks around these wheels. Then, as time progressed, the snowmobile as we know it, began to take shape. Probably in the late 1950's-early 1960's. I have a 1967 Ski-Doo snowmobile, and, it is much different, than the sleds of today. This man also made one of the first persional watercrafts... This was called a Sea-Doo. And, these were made, at least as far back, as 1968. The snowmobiles had a item, called a Ski-Boose, which was also on skies. This was pulled behined the snowmobile. I have two of these as well. Electric start was a option on the Ski-Doos, at first. All of the early machines had a single cylinder engine, which had about ten-fourteen horsepower. These early machines were way easier to work on, than the machines, of today.

  2. Ah, Bombardier. His company is called BRI (Bombardier Recreative Industries) and they make Ski-Doo snowmobiles and many other things. Joseph-Armand is considered to be the father of snowmobiling. I found a really great information page on him: http://explorenorth.com/library/weekly/a...

    Hope this Helps! Good Luck!
