Info on Stockholm for a weekend visit?

We are thinking of going to Stockholm for the weekend but we dont know much about it, can anyone tell me of any good places to visit there or in the surrounding area and things to do with an 18 month old baby? Any accomodation reccomendations would be very useful too!

  1. If you go to Stockholm, the old town is very nice. The Palace is still used. I particularly like the St George and the dragon sculpture. http://www.dodedans.com/Enotke3.htm. Be sure to see both the original inside the Storkyran and the version in the square. The Vasa museum is definitely something you should see.     The Birka Museum shows what life was like in Viking times. Go see the place the Nobel Prizes are awarded.

    I've stayed at the Rica Gamla Stan in the old town and would gladly return there. It's very convenient to the sights and the Central Station.
