  1. I use realestate.com for accomodation

    and the following for employment

    careerone.com

    mycareer.com

    seek.com

  2. Most of us use our local papers. this had accomodation and jobs. seek.com.au is good for jobs. The main papers (don't know what they are called in those states but In Victoria it is The Herald Sun and The Age) I will try google and see how I go for local papers. Both Queenslad and W.A are large States so you may wish to narrow down to the suburb you are after.

    hope these help

  3. Try rental express for brisbane. Brisbane has a good website "ourbrisbane" that may help with rental info.

  4. For Australia National housing rentals go to http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rse... and put in your search criteria

For Jobs the main websites are

    http://www.workingin-australia.com

    https://jobsearch.gov.au

    http://www.mycareer.com.au

    http://www.seek.com.au

    http://nowhiring.com.au/JobSeeker/Defaul...

    http://www.careersonline.com.au

  5. Believe it or not lots of Job searches are done on the internet in OZ and with the........

Saturday Courier mail, it's a must have.....we get it every Sat at 6am ;-)

    Careerone.com.au

    seek.com.au

    Good Luck!

  6. Some thoughts about accomodationin Oz:

Having lived in North America for a long time, and now for many years in Oz, I find that it is much less common here for individual landlords to advertise and manage their own properties.  Most people seem to go through real estate agents.  I've found almost every place I've ever rented either by looking online (at realestate.com.au or domain.com.au, for instance ) or by physically going to the real estate agents to get their lists (some don't really keep their web-posts up to date, but it's always good for a look at the sort of thing that's available).  Usually the shortest lease available on non-tourist places is 6 months, although some will do 3 month.  Most rents are paid weekly,  and you have to pay 6 weeks in advance on moving in (4 weeks is the typical deposit).   Also unique is that you have to get your own fridge.

    Good luck!

  7. Australia doesn't have anything equivalent to craighslist. The only sites I could find for you are these:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia (good old Wiki)

http://www.westernaustralia.com/en/Pages... (it's a bit touristy, but has the main facts and figures)

The only other sites worth checking are the Australian newspaper sites.

    Hope this helps.
