Info on becoming a radio traffic reporter?

Is a broadcasting degree required? Does anyone know (on average) how much they are paid? Thanks!

A little broadcasting background is needed, but this is really the bottom of the barrel in terms of responsibility. I would guess it's pretty close to the lowest-paid position at a radio station or service, and that means the pay would be very low.
