  1. Well, when your getting them on, you'll barely feel anything, but a few hours later they will start hurting really bad, and it will feel really funny. Youll wont even be able to eat bread for a few days, just like soup and icecream and stuff, but after that, you get used to them, and its fine.

  2. well it does hurt afterwords and possibly during the process for some people but in like a few days the pain will go away

there gonna give you a list of what you cant chew like for example tootsie rolls, gum, ice, stuff like that

the elastics and turbos are the types of materials they add to your  brackets

it might take 6 months to a couple years depending on your teeth it took me about 4 or 5 years to get them off

its easy to get food stuck in between them so you got to clean them a lot and be careful to floss cuz i broke my wire and brackets like that twice

other than that there cool cuz you could get a variety of colors especially for hollidays like i got red and green every december and turquise - my birthstone color on the bottom

if it seems like to much ask your dentist about other options like invisilgn there like retainers but just clear braces and more expensive

  3. I'm getting my braces off in 10 days!!  Well in 8 days you'll probably go for the first of 2 visits (or they might do it all at once).  They'll stick some spacers which are kind of like tiny elastic bands between your back molars and your 2nd to back molars and your 2nd to back molars and your third to back molars.  Then they'll stick the little metal things on each of your teeth.  Don't worry - none of this hurts but the glue they use tastes gross so try to block your throat with your tongue!  Oh also put some lip balm on before cos my lips were quite dry and it was painful opening my mouth for ages!  Then a week later you'll go back and they'll put sort of metal squares around your 2nd to back molars and attach the wires.  It's all quite quick (20mins ish) and doesn't hurt at the time.  Then take some pain killers straight away because you are in for some painful teeth!  It might take a little while but have stuff before to prepare yourself.  Also get your family to plan to have soft food or soup or something cos you wont feel like eating much!  Don't worry if the first few days seem like a nightmare - it gets better and even having tehm tightened doesn't hurt.  Towards the end of your treatment you might get elastics which straighten up your bit so your mouth closes nicely. Unfortunately they stop you opening your mouth very wide / snap when you do!  I must have swallowed about 20 while i tried to eat with them - no harm but it's probably easier to take them out!  I think turbos are like a plastic wire they put all along your teeth to pull them in to place faster (again towards the end)

Colourswise go for something fun!  If your eyes are blue why not bring them out with blue ones.  I wouldn't go for anything too dark as it might make you mouth look a bit dirty, same goes for yellow and dark green might look like spinach!

Oh also don't be relluctant to smile with your braces - we have so many pictures of my brother grimacing as he'd tried to cover his but he just looks worse.  I have tried to perfect my 'mouth closed' smile but even with braces it looks 10 times better with my teeth showing!
