My step-daughter's real father is up for parole in December and we have been planing on taking away his rights and me adopting her in January. His parole date came earlier than we thought (so please don't give me guff about not doing it soon enough). In 2001 he raped his 12 year old niece and went to jail for it. He's been good in prison and has no bad record on him since he has been there, but he still is a s*x offender against a minor. We still have to wait for January to adopt her, but with this situation....what do we have to worry about? About the adoption, his parole, anything. Oh and he is incarcerated in Texas. Any help is appreciated. THANKS!! ( and any legit legal advice is very welcome)

  1. i would be requesting to have his rights terminated immediately through the courts as a threat to his daughter.

    go to http://www.blackbookonline.info/bbostate...

and find the free resources for your states s*x offender registry and make sure he abides by them at all times.

  2. I am not sure about the laws there but here, Canada, anyone convicted of a s*x crime against a child (and often those convicted of any s*x crime) are required to have their DNA taken for the national s*x offender's registry as well as having to keep away from minors for a set amount of time (if the crime was against a minor). Sometimes this time is indefinite. If you can find out his parole requirements perhaps this can act in your favour. If he is not allowed access to children that would include his own thus making it impossible for him to act as a father in any capacity... Again I speak of Canuck laws but worth a shot maybe.

  3. Get it done as fast as you can.  Then leave Texas too.  Good thing about Texas is that everywhere he lives, Texas sends out little post cards advising of his presence to all of his neighbors.  You will also be able to keep track of him through various websites.
