  1. Go to Ft. Bragg, NC and visit the JFK Special Warfare Museum---tons of great stuff that you won't find on Wiki, or elsewhere on the Internet

You could try the USASOC homepage, but I'm not sure if it's on there...

    EDIT***

This is what is says on the USASOC history page...

Known more formally as the 1st Special Service Force, the Devil's Brigade was a joint Canadian-American venture that began July 9, 1942, at Fort William Henry Harrison, Montana. Airborne- trained and honed to the sharpness of a cold steel blade, the Devil's Brigade saw most of its action in Italy, but also fought in France, where it was inactivated in 1944. Its forte was close-quarter combat against numerically-superior forces, a task which it accomplished with a raw power that gave the brigade its nickname.

That might be a starting point...

  2. Here are a few sites to look at:

  3. It is the First Special Service Force, it consisted of American and Canadian Troops.   The British had an entirely separate formation called the 1st Special Service Brigade, they were not the same unit.
