My battery life on my SONY DSC-V3, V3 for short, camera has shortened and I've come to the conclusion that it simply just doesn't hold charge anymore. My question is that are any infoLITHIUM batteries, such as the Type G, or Type H, compatible with the camera. It came with an infoLITHIUM Type R but i can only find it on eBay. I'm looking to hopefully buy the other types at Wal-Mart or CircuitCity for cheaper. Thanks!

  1. Call Sony's help line and they can tell you where to find new batteries for your camera.

That said, Li-ion batteries usually last over five years.

The only thing that can kill Li-ion batteries is letting them become completely depleted ... they are very susceptible to this condition.

Nikon suggests that users keep their Li-ion batteries charged at all times .... charging them at the end of each shoot.  Under that criteria, I have been abusing my poor batteries, but so far, my oldest batteries (just over five years old) are still doing fine.  I have changed my ways and now do that.
