We are having an informal 25th wedding anniversary party on Sept. 27, 2008. Sending invites to about 125 people. Planning on 90 showing (no shows; no can shows, etc.). When should I send invitations; and how much beer should I order (keg, bottled?). I am providing beer, water, soda. There will be a cash bar.

  1. Congratulations!

Send your invitations three weeks in advance, and have your guests RSVP by the end of the second week.  This will give you some time to call the forgetful guests.  Keg is the way to go.  I'm not so wild about the cash bar.  If you are doing the inviting, then you should consider paying for your guests.

    Have a great time.

  2. I would say buy enough beer to cover one drink per hour, per guest. Some will drink more, others less, so in the end you have just enough usually. I would probably go with a keg if you think everyone will drink beer.

As far as the invites, I'd say 2 months if people will need to travel or take off from work.

  3. Wait to decide on the beer until you have a headcount. Send invites out at least 4 weeks before your event. A keg would be much much easier for you. One thing to ice down versus hundreds of bottles. Best Wishes for you party!

  4. Send the invites about a month in advance people need to maje room in thier diaries, as for beer you might want to get twicw as much as you are thinking of getting =]
