  1. I'll try to help =)

French Rail System is called the SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français).  You may have also heard of the TGV (train à grande vitesse), which offers high-speed connections between many major cities.  I'll also add that Air France is such a nice airline, and one of the only two airlines to ever fly Concorde =]

Wow, French products, there's really so much to say about them.  More or less, they are of extremely high quality, rather expensive, but worth the price.  You're probably familiar with many (cheese, wines, coffees).  Paris is also, without a doubt, the fashion capital of the world.  Beautiful clothing, everybody there is well-dressed, main city of countless designers.

The current French government (5th Republic) is technically called a 'semi-presidential system' similar to the US.  There are 3 branches of government: executive, legislative, and judicial.  There is a President who appoints a Prime Minister (currently Nicolas Sarkozy and François Fillon).  Their parliament, more or less equivalent to our Congress, has two bodies which are the National Assembly and the Senate.  And no, there is no Vice-President.

Now some other facts for you.

-France is the most heavily-visited country in the world.

-Mainland France borders 8 other countries.

-France has the sixth largest economy in the world.

-French cuisine has been named 'Best in the World' countless times.

-One of the 5 permanent seats in the UN Council.

That's about all I can think of at the moment.  Hope this helps!
