My father was given this as a gift when I was a toddler at a pow wow and was told to hold it for me.

I was wondering if anyone can give me some information about this rosette (Native American amulet).

Thank you very much.

This is a picture of it:

  1. Hm,  I'm Native American.  And those look familiar and such but I never really knew or learned what they meant or anything like that.

Is it a pin or something?

  2. firstly are you a native american?

ask dad who and where it came from and any information he has about it. Find out which tribe it came from then you can get in touch with someone from the tribe and ask what it is used for. eg as protection or for long life ect. good luck with your search.

  3. They look like either hairties or earrings.  Probably hairties since you were a toddler when you received them.  They are made out of seed beads.  They are typical of what you'd find at a powwow.  There is really no significance to the design except that the maker and your dad must have liked flowers and the colors that make up the flowers.
