Information about electrophoresis - not gel electrophoresis - Please help!?

Hi, I'm doing a project & experiment on electrophoresis and was just wondering if i could get the basics from you guys or some background information on electrophoresis. Thank you soo much!

well, electrophoresis is simply the movement of charged compounds through a medium of some sort, ( gel, paper, cellulose strip , etc ) generally toward a positive pole. The compounds are placed in/on the medium in their negative forms and will migrate toward the positive pole under electric current   at a rate related in a complex way to their relative masses and geometries.
