Information about engine removal? (1994 Integra LS)?

I have a blown head gasket and I needed to know some information. (Doing it myself because I really can't afford to take it to the shop)

1. Do I have to remove the automatic transmission with the engine or can I leave it?

2. Where is the automatic transmission fluid bolt located because I heard you have to unscrew it to drain it out.

3. Do I attach the cherry picker to the top of the engine or is there a specific place where I have to put it? It has 4 chains and each one has 2 bolt holes at the end where i put bolts in.

  1. You do not have to remove the trans or the engine. All you have to do is unbolt the exhaust and intake manifolds, remove the drive belts, possibly the alt., power steering, or A/C, timing belt, distributor, valve cover, and a few other minor things. Make sure you line up all your timing marks properly when putting everything back together. And when you have the head off, have it checked for cracks.

  2. you do not have to remove the motor to replace the head gasket.  while you have the head off have it checked making sure it is not warped...good luck
