  2. Teddy bear hamsters. i am on my sixth teddy bear hamster and i love him to death. teddy bear hamsters are sweet and well furry. i prefer the long haired ones over short haired ones. thats why i buy teddy bears. they are very hyper hamsters and lvoe to explore. thats why i think if you get one you should have a hamster ball and a pen you can buy them at walmart for about $20.00 and it gives your hamster a chance to run around free i guess. they are very clean and only bite if they smell something on your hands like food because hamsters are almost blind. so wash your hands before and after.

i love teddy bear hamsters and they are the only kind i will buy

  3. what do you want to know?

  4. Hamsters are mean and they bite no matter how you treat them. Don't trust what the pet store people tell you. You cannot pair hamsters, so it makes it boring. Find an alternative like mice. I know it sounds scary and disgusting (EEEK!) but mice and rats make FANTASTIC pets and they will actually interact with you and be friendly when cared for well.

Hope this helps and remember don't fall for the trap pet stores set up for you!

  5. ok hamster like to run so they need a wheel to run on and need for every time on there bowl and allwise have to have a suppliy of water  and need beding to upsorve the urine and dont get the hamster when there sleeping beacuse they will some times bite

  6. Some people are really allergic to these hamsters. They may not be allergic to other animals but have a reaction to teddies. Hamsters can be mean and bite if not conditioned as babies.

Mother hamsters with babies can be mean and also bite or eat their babies if threatened.

  7. The Syrian Hamster or Golden Hamster, Mesocricetus auratus, is the best known member of the rodent subfamily Cricetinae, the hamsters. In the wild they are now considered endangered,[1] but are popular as housepets and scientific research animals. Adults grow from 5 to 7 inches (12.5 to 17.5 cm) in length, and will usually have a lifespan of 2 to 3 years.

Syrian hamsterLike most members of the subfamily, the Syrian Hamster has expandable cheek pouches, which extend from its cheeks to its shoulders. In the wild, hamsters are larder hoarders; they use their cheek pouches to transport food to their burrows. Their name in the local Arabic dialect where they were found translates to "father of saddlebags" due to the remarkable amount of storage space in their cheek pouches. If food is plentiful, they will store it in large amounts--it has been reported that 25 kg of grain was found in the burrow of a single hamster.
