I had an upper endoscopy done and they told me I have a hiatal hernia.

The doctor didn't say much about it.

Just that I couldn't have any spicy foods or anything.

& He gave me some nexium to take.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?

Like, what I can and can't eat.

Orr anything else.

& Can hiatal hernia's cause you to have trouble breathing?

  1. Your diaphragm has a hole in it that allows your esophagus through. Your stomach sits just below the diaphragm. A hiatal hernia is when your stomach starts to get pulled upward toward the hole and everything gets 'kinked up'. You could have trouble breathing due to the extra pressure on the diaphragm from the stomach.

I have successfully helped people with hiatal hernias by way of maya abdominal massage. It helps to relax the abdomen and allow the stomach to settle back to where it needs to be and not cause problems.
