Which city library are more books available in New Zealand?

If I am not a student, can I read the books in the libraries of universities?

  1. Normally the general public is allowed to enter university libraries of public institutions during normal hours.  You can access the open stacks (rows of books/journals) and some of the reference material at least.  You obviously will not have check-out priviledges and cannot request books from closed stack areas (usually special collections or rare books).  In some cases, you can apply for a community access library card at a nominal charge.

    Private universities almost always will not allow you into the library unless you're student/faculty.
