  1. Everything you will need depends on the livestock you plan on keeping. For instance if your keeping FOWLR (fish only with live rock) or just strictly fish you don't need powerful lighting which saves about 250 dollars. You technically don't need live rock but it makes things a lot easier on you because it naturally filters the water for you. Argonate (sand) is also worth getting it looks nice and keeps the pH high. Trickle filters, canister filters, and power filters are the best to get. A DIY sump is also a good idea not needed but definately benefitial. A protien skimmer is also a good idea I don't have one in my tank but they cam help. A 29 gallon is also going to restict the chocies you have for fish, but saltwater is definately worth getting into.

  2. i have a ten gallon tank.

    list:

    salt

    water

    hydrometer

    canister filter

    100w heater

    live rock

    live-sand

protein skimmer(if you wish to keep coral.)

    100w light

  3. I'd say a skimmer is a must, even if it's going to be fish only. Best source honestly would be places like wetwebmedia.com on the internet, and I'd invest in a good Marine aquarium book (so you will know what to look for and how to avoid some of the problems common in marine aquaria)
