Information about the Explorers Hotel in Disneyland Paris?

We are planning to take our young family to Disneyland Paris later in the year. We are looking at our choice of hotels, we stayed in the Santa Fe last time we went. We are mainly looking at the Thomas Cook Explorers Hotel, formally My Travel Explorer Hotel.

Could anyone provide information about how good or not good the hotel was, and how far it was from the parks, is it in walking distance like the disney hotels? Further, if you could recommend a hotel would be great also.

  1. The Explorers Hotel is not one of the on-site Disney hotels. It is advertised as being only a kilometer away, yet it looks further on the map. If you want to walk it, I would say at least 30 minutes walk, with a busy road to cross.

Here's a link to their website, if you've not seen it already:

If you want one of the on-site Disney hotels, the Cheyenne is a great one for children.

There is also a brand new hotel just outside the Disney area called the Dream Castle Hotel, which is closer than the Explorers.
